Time trials involve unique discipline and strategically specialized training.
Training for a time trial race is not accomplished the same way as the other types of cycling training. This type of cycling requires as much strength as possible, along with a steady state of endurance, in order to maintain power throughout the race. You will need an efficient oxygen delivery system and a skilled pedaling stroke. It is an important strategy to break up the course into sections and know how hard to push yourself in each section. In addition, there is a very specific warm up process needed before the race in order to achieve success.
I have over 20 years of racing experience and have won 1st place in five Cajun Man triathlons. During my racing career, I have gained a wealth of knowledge about time trial racing, which I would like to share with you.
