Ironman training requires specific physical and mental preparation.
Swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112 miles, and then running 26.2 miles can be extremely challenging, even for the highest level of athlete. Just one category of the race alone is enough to test a seasoned racer. An Ironman race will push a body to its limit. Preparing for an Ironman takes a deep knowledge of the sport in each of its disciplines, in addition to being aware of how the body reacts under this type of intense stress.
My leadership will guide you into peak condition for each category. We will optimize your oxygen delivery system, build power, extend endurance, and work on efficiency. Your workouts will be specific to you and tailored to work with your schedule and goals.
I have over 20 years of racing experience and have won the Cajun Man triathlon five times. For several years, I trained under Rick Crawford who trains top cyclists, including Tommy Danielson. Tommy Danielson became the highest American finisher in the 2011 Tour de France. Currently, I coach under Joe Friel who is an elite trainer and author of the famous book series “The Training Bible”.
